If you want a place to go and think or somewhere to go for a nice walk or picnic with your family or friends, Yatakayama Park is a great place to head. From the top, there is a 360 degree viewpoint where you can view a sea of lush, green mountains as far as the eye can see. You can even stay here in a lodge, private bungalow or campsite and there is an adventure playground for kids too. People were having picnics from their cars on nearby roads, simply taking in the view.

Green, green mountains as far as the eye can see

There's a small circle of grass at the top, choose which way you want to look and you will see mountains
See how far you can see through the binoculars
In the blistering heat of the summer and with a bit of a breeze at the top, this is the perfect spot to take a little breather
View from the top...like I said, mountains, mountains, mountains
Picnic under the blue sky anyone?
Entrance to the park
Several people were just parking their cars and having picnics, this was on the main road, a bit past the park entrance
View from the car picnic
One of the private bungalows you can stay in at the park
The main road up is the 77, but I took the 473 on the way back, after a lovely winding road round what I think were fruit farms and taking a left onto the 294, I found this

This is just another place I wanted to be in right now. I just love mountains, waterfalls, green grasses and anything that has something to do with nature. This is a wonderful place to relax. Thanks for sharing!

Love those puffy clouds and the greenery. I'd love to access this park on a bicycle, taking a swim in the waterfall on the way back!
