Sandan-kyō (三段峡) is a 16-kilometer long ravine in the Nishi-Chugoku Sanchi Quasi-National Park in Akiota, Hiroshima, Japan. Through it runs the Shibaki River, one of the Ōta River's tributaries. Sandan-kyō is known for its autumn foliage. [Wikipedia]

Access

Ten-minute drive from Togouchi IC (Chugoku Expressway).

From Hiroshima Bus Center (3F, SOGO Department Store), both an Express Bus (1 hr 15 min, ¥1400 one way) or regular bus (2 hr 17 min) can be taken to reach Sandankyo. Note the Express service only runs once per day, departing around 8:15am.
