The Yayoi Kusama Museum was founded by the contemporary avant-garde artist Yayoi Kusama and is operated by the Yayoi Kusama Foundation. It opened in 2017 with the aim of exhibiting Kusama's works to contribute to the development of art as a whole. It is located in Shinjuku , the western suburb of Tokyo.
Tickets must be purchased in advance for a time-slotted entry period.
Yayoi Kusama made a name for himself in the New York avant-garde scene in the 1960s. Her works are exhibited in the most important art centers and museums around the world. She is known for her dot patterns and pumpkin motifs.
The collection of Kusama's works is presented in two exhibitions each year along with lectures and various other events. The organizers want to spread the message of world peace and love for humanity that Kusama promotes. At the same time, everyone should have the opportunity to deal with contemporary art.
Yayoi Kusama Museum tickets must be purchased online in advance for a specific day and time slot.
