One of the major Tsunoshima attractions is the 1876 lighthouse designed by Richard Henry Brunton. A foreign advisor to the Meiji government, Brunton, a Scot, oversaw the construction of 26 Western style lighthouses in Japan over a period of seven and a half years. This lighthouse is still in service and is open to the public (9-4, ¥150 adults, ¥20 kids). In the immediate area is a pay parking lot with a few restaurants, Yumesakinami Park, and Yumegasaki Cape. It’s a nice area to spend a couple of hours.

Tsunoshima Lighthouse as seen from Tsunoshima Ohama Beach at night
Standing tall in the afternoon sunshine since the Meiji period

The parking lot has restrooms and a few restaurants serving fresh seafood
LightHouse is also the name of this cafe service ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks
From the lighthouse, it's just a few steps to Yumesakinami Park (the grassy area) and Yumegasaki Cape (in the distance)
