Even in winter, the gardens of this home-restaurant dedicated to the beautiful region of Provence in France allure me. At the base of the grassy mountainsides of Mt. Takagi and the craggy peaks of Mt. Rakan, this restaurant is a welcome rest after some hiking or a drive. Besides the excellent food, you can enjoy a stroll through the gardens or just a rest on one of the benches or the large porch.

A small creek runs through this western-style flower garden

An elegant lamp found on the porch

A broad, covered porch like this is very rare in Japan

This seems to be the size of . . . a cat

Though this flower doesn't come from the garden, others will once spring arrives

Simple decorations on the inside of the restaurant

On the edge of a forest

Tiny white flowers announce spring is near

The side garden
