E-Motion Graphics: Feelings of the Image

When
Feb 2nd - Feb 18th 2024

There's no doubting that these days we're surrounded by video content in our day-to-day lives. Whether it's watching short clips from our smartphones, seeing advertising on digital billboards, or even relaxing at home with YouTube, the video medium shows up in many aspects of life. The annual Ebisu Video Festival has been running since 2009, and the 2021 event titled "E-Motion Graphics" will look at the power video has on the viewer's emotions.

The festival will include video from the likes of James Whitney (1921 - 1982) who was seen as one of the greats of abstract cinema, and Petra Cortright, an American digital media artist who is known for presenting works on YouTube.

Admission to the festival is free of charge.

Getting there

The Tokyo Photographic Art Museum is located around 7 minutes on foot from the East Exit of the JR Ebisu Station, served by the Yamanote Line, the Shonan-Shinjuku Line, and the Saikyo Line.

For those planning to drive, there is no dedicated parking lot - it is advised to park in the nearby paid Yebisu Garden Place lot (details can be found here).
