Lotus Park in Minami Echizen, Fukui, is my favorite place to see lotus flowers every summer. This year, I visited here at around 3 P.M. and as always started to take pictures furiously. Sometime later when I looked up, it was already getting dark and a beautiful sun was setting over a distant mountain. Since I'd never seen a sunset here, I became ecstatic and decided to stay a little longer to capture the sunset and the illuminated lotus at night. The night was cool and the white and pink lotus flowers lit up in the dark were just fantastic! For the daytime video, please refer to this article on Japan Travel.

I was born in and grew up in Tokushima prefecture, and have lived in many places since then: Nishinomiya, Kyoto, Nara, Mie, Tokyo, Kanagawa, Saitama, Chiba, Fukuoka and Fukui. I am currently living in Yokohama City. All the places I lived, all the places I visited, I have loved dearly. The historical places where people lived, loved, suffered, and fought - places where I can still hear their heartbeats - mesmerize me. I'd like to retrace the footsteps of the people who lived in Japan a long long time ago, and introduce to you what they left behind on this soil.
