Halt! Before you head out of Kawayu-Onsen to Akan National Park you should stop for a moment and take a look at your surroundings. The small town has a sumo museum, tiny shops with local wood carvings, nature trails and a natural hot springs foot spa. Even by walking in and around the town you can experience natural beauty and at the end of your sojourn you can dip your toes in the warm, local waters.
