EGG stands for Ever Green Garden, and is an egg-shaped indoor garden located next to the fisherman's wharf in Kushiro. The temperature controlled room ensures you can enjoy the beautiful garden all year round, making it the perfect place to escape Kushiro's infamous inclement weather. The garden itself is immaculately maintained, and has information boards on each of the plants, a small water feature, stone paths and the sound of birds chirping over speakers. Whilst it's not a reason to visit Kushiro itself, it's nice to drop in and enjoy the greenery if you're in the area. The EGG is located next to the Kushiro Fisherman's Wharf, open from 06:00 ~ 22:00 daily and is a five minute walk from Kushiro Station.

You're right Mandy, something so simple brings a nice refreshing feel to the often cold and bleak port city.

What a cool idea! I love the architecture of the dome, too.
