You should not miss a visit to Kyoto’s very own Ginkaku-ji. It’s full of people, yes, but it offers an exceptional beauty that nobody can say no to. During autumn, the temple is going to be even more crowded—but it’ll also be much more beautiful because the so-called “Silver Pavilion” will be graced with even more color.
Lying atop the Higashiyama hillsides on the eastern part of the city, this Zen temple can be considered blessed as it is nestled among nature. Which means that when November comes, the greenery will slowly turn red and orange, making Ginkaku-ji one of Kyoto’s prime spots for autumn foliage viewing.
