The Kamogawa River is a Kyoto landmark that runs right through the middle of the city and is crossed by many bridges. People come here for a stroll in the morning or evening, to enjoy the fresh air, the river, and views of the distant mountains that surround the city. There are many restaurants that sit high up along the banks of the river, giving their customers a wonderful place to people watch. And everything changes with the seasons, of course. During spring, when the cherry blossoms are in full bloom, cherry trees line the riverbank for miles, and make the walk there an even more wonderful experience.
