Kirifuri Falls is one of three amazing waterfalls located in Nikko, in Tochigi Prefecture. Nikko, known for its historical treasures, is also home to some magnificent natural beauty as well. Kirifuri Falls is located approximately four kilometers from JR Nikko Station north along Prefecture Route 169, which takes about ten minutes by car. Kirifuri Falls is a split stage waterfall nestled in the forest top mountains where water cascades over 75 meters (246 feet) into the depths below. At the trail head, there are two trails that lead to the falls. There is a shorter (5 minute walk) on an uneven trail to an observation deck overlooking the falls. The second longer trail is approximately a 90 minute hike down into the ravine down to the base of the falls. Kirifuri Falls is one of several examples of the stunning beauty of Nikko.

This is the short trail leading to the observation deck, it begins as a stone path but quickly becomes an uneven trail. Takes about five minutes to make your way to the deck.
