There are a myriad of incredible destinations to enjoy sakura season in Tokyo, and one of Shinagawa's top spots is Gotenyama Garden. A festival is held at the garden when the blossoms are at their best, and it includes additional activities like shamisen performances, after-dark illuminations, tea ceremonies (participation is via a lottery system), and plenty more.

A photo competition is also being held by the event organizers – those who use the hashtag #御殿山さくらまつり2023 (Gotenyama Sakura Festival 2023) can be in the running for prizes.

Please note that while the sakura festival dates are from March 27th until April 2nd, the night illuminations run for longer – those are from March 20th until April 9th.
