Muggles rejoice! To commemorate 20 years since the cinema release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, two Harry Potter Cafe events will be taking place in Tokyo and Nagoya for a limited time.

The cafes will have a variety of themed eats, drinks, and desserts on offer, including sandwich and soup sets served in lunch boxes for the four Harry Potter houses (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin), a Shepherd’s pie stamped with the Hogwarts logo, and a golden snitch parfait to name just a few. For those who like to plan out their eating options ahead of time, the full menu with prices can be found here.

Along with the themed food and drinks to choose from, there will be a variety of Harry Potter merchandise available for purchase, including key chains, magnets, and letter sets.

Reservations for either cafe can be made in advance via the official event website here, but do note that the dates differ between the two locations. Tokyo's event runs from July 22nd (Thursday) until September 12 (Sunday), and Nagoya's runs from July 23rd (Friday) until August 22nd (Sunday).

Getting there

The Tokyo Harry Potter Cafe event takes place at the OMOTESANDO BOX cafe & space. The venue can be accessed within five minutes on foot from Omotesando Station, which is served by the Tokyo Metro Ginza, Chiyoda, and Hanzomon lines. For those using the JR train network, the cafe is just under 10 minutes on foot from Harajuku Station (Yamanote Line).

The Nagoya event takes place at the NAGOYA BOX cafe & space, which is located in the Lachic shopping mall (B1F). The venue is located approximately 3 minutes on foot from Sakae Station, which is served by the Nagoya Municipal Subway's Higashiyama Line. For those who opt to drive, there are numerous parking lots in the surrounding area - more details on the locations can be found on the Lachic website.
