A bustling little oasis in the midst of Tokyo's concrete madness, Shinjuku Central Park is host to the Shinjuku Chuo Park Flea Market. Home to almost 200 stalls, the market is open only to amateur vendors, and is known for its down-to-earth, authentic market atmosphere.
Since it's close to many hotels, the market is also a great place for overseas visitors - strolling through the park grounds and soaking up their weekend with bargains is a pleasant way for many to spend a couple of hours. Like most flea markets, vintage items abound, but Shinjuku Chuo Flea Market is well known for its clothing, from kids gear to pre-loved traditional apparel.
