ULTRA JAPAN 2015

90,000 gather for world-class DJ performances

Following last years success, ULTRA JAPAN 2015 returned bigger than ever with an incredible lineup. The urban dance music festival took place in the TOKYO ODAIBA ULTRA PARK from September 19 to 21, where a total of 90,000 people came together over the course of three days. The line up included world class stars such as Fedde Le Grand, David Guetta, Skrillex and Armin van Buuren.

The ULTRA MUSIC FESTIVAL (UMF) began in 1998 in Miami, and soon spread to other major cities all over the world. Known to be one of the biggest events worldwide, tickets are usually sold out within seconds of release. Throughout the years, UMF has also become a prominent trendsetter of fashion, and has influenced many styles following the event.

This year's ULTRA JAPAN 2015, was yet again high in demand with many visitors making their way to Tokyo from all over the country. A considerable number of foreign visitors also made their way to ULTRA JAPAN 2015, evidence of it as a leading entertainment event. Moreover, the impressive stage set up with exciting and vibrant lighting and visual effects encouraged the festivities to continue all through the day and night, as it did for three days straight. Apart from the main stage, this year ULTRA JAPAN 2015 hosted a RESISTANCE stage featuring upcoming underground artists such as John Digweed, Sasha, Gorgon City, and Nic Fancuilli. The line up suited the liking of various tastes, and once again proved to be a successful event enjoyed by many.

Located within walking distance from the station and next door to DiverCity Tokyo Plaza, Ultra-ers were able to get in and out smoothly and take a break in the shopping and dining entertainment complex when necessary.

Hosted in major cities all over the world, keep a look out for the next UMF coming to you!

Did you also go to Summer Sonic, per chance? How did they compare, I wonder...

At summer sonic they invite artists from a variety of genres unlike ULTRA where they are all DJs. Last year some of the headliners were The Chemical Brothers and Pharrell Williams. You'll also find many Japanese and Asian bands/artists performing. These performances are sprawled across eight different stages so complex size is another difference. Check out this video, and their website for more info : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fjya2y_VCfs and here is ULTRA's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d6NSBUZBNXQ
