Seigan-ji in Kofu

Small but pretty temple near Kai-Zenkoji

A large mossy rock stands beside the bell tower

A straight path leads to the main hall

Looking past the bell tower toward the gate

A tree with pink flowers stands beside the water basin

A dragon presides over the water basin

There is an attractive small pond

Rocks and sand form a small dry garden

Buckets for washing grave-stones wait near the water basin

A beautiful path through the gravel with paving stones of various sizes

Relief statues of monks

This small but attractive temple is one of several temples that lie between Kofu Station and Kai-Zenkoji, and the only claim to fame I found was that a man credited with solving a serious regional disease is buried in the graveyard there. I especially liked the large moss-greened rock near the bell tower.

The temple itself looks new, so it seem the moss is growing very fast!
