Arts and Routes 2020-2021

A special exhibition at the Akita Museum of Modern Art

Venue: Akita Museum of Modern Art When: Nov 28th - Mar 7th 2021

A special exhibition taking place at the Akita Museum of Modern Art is titled "Arts and Routes", and it will focus on the themes of travel and expression in the creative world. Works will be on display from a number of artists, many of whom are faculty members at the Akita University of Art.

Several of the pieces at the event are inspired by the journeys of Masumi Sugae, an Edo period figure who traveled all across the Tohoku region and stayed in Akita for quite some time.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1000 yen.

Getting there

The Akita Museum of Modern Art is located a short bus ride from the JR Yokote Station, served by the Ou Main Line and the Kitakami Line. Head out of the east exit, take the bus bound for Furusato-mura and get off at Furusato-mura.

Alternatively, for those who plan to drive to the venue, it's around a 3 minute drive from the Yokote Interchange on the Akita Expressway.
