When I visited Ono Castle in Fukui, I had to stop at many places before reaching the castle, because there were so many things to see! Yanagino Yashiro Shrine was one of the things that hindered me from going straight to the castle. This shrine is located at the trailhead to reach the castle. The sun was setting and I had to hurry, but the moment I saw the graceful main hall silently standing in deep woods, I fell in love with it. I forgot why I came here (to see the castle!), and kept taking photos. Although I couldn't capture the beauty of it, I can assure you, it's truly beautiful, especially in the dark. Don't miss it if you ever come to Ono Castle!

I fell in love with the modest, yet graceful beauty of this main prayer hall, lost track of time and kept taking photos
Peeping at the beautiful main prayer hall through trees. It looked so beautiful when I saw it, but sadly I couldn't capture its beauty with my camera

Very nice photos. My favorite is the shrine roof in the woods, showing the intricate carving detail of the shrine eaves.
