There are many things to do at Shikishima Park, one of which is visiting the Rose Garden to the north. Although mid-May to early June is the best season to visit, you can still see the park’s blossoming 7000 rose bushes in 600 different varieties all year round. There are also fresh roses to buy and rose-flavored ice-cream to try. By bus, you board the Kanetsu bus bound for Shibukawa or Midorigaoka from Maebashi station and get off at the Bara Koen. It is a 20 minute trip. From Maebashi Sakura Hotel, it is only a seven minute walk to the station.

Well worth a visit, there are other fun events too, you can sometimes see musicians and buy rose bushes at the small flower markets.
