Great small town festival in Hiroshima city
There are many festivals in Hiroshima city, but none as friendly, fun and reasonably priced as Ushita's annual Hoozuki Matsuri.
Held on the 3rd weekend of July each year in honor of the pretty red Chinese Lantern Plant, the main street is filled with food, game and drink stalls and two stages feature performances and shows that are fun for families. To get to the festival, take the #6 bus for Ushita Asahi about 10 minutes from the city center.
