Bisen Fukuda (1875 - 1963) was a Japanese painter who was renowned for his landscape art pieces. Many of his works were believed to have been destroyed during World War II, but have been rediscovered in recent years. A special exhibition at the Himeji City Museum of Art looks into works created through his life, including depictions of Japanese national parks and the Fuji Five Lakes area to name just a couple.
Adult admission to the event is priced at 800 yen.
The Himeji City Museum of Art is located approximately 20 minutes on foot from Himeji Station, served by the Sanyo Shinkansen, the Sanyo Main Line, the Bantan Line, and the Kishin Line.
For those who plan to drive to the museum, it's located approximately 15 minutes from the Himeji East IC or Himeji West IC of the Sanyo Expressway. Do note that there is no dedicated parking at the museum - it's recommended to use the nearby Himeyama Park parking lot instead.
