Himeji Castle Festival

Historical parades, traditional dance performances, and more

Venue: Himeji Castle When: Mid Nov 2024

Himeji Castle is one of Japan's most well-preserved castles, and it was recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site back in 1993. One of the best times to visit is during the Himeji Castle Festival, which takes place for three days in November and has a history spanning over 70 years.

The event includes colorful processions of participants dressed in historical costumes, traditional dance performances, and displays of Takigi Noh, a performing art that takes place at night by torchlight.
