Ganden-ji Temple is located on a cliff in Zushi. Nowadays, the image of Zushi is cool - a fashionable and bright seaside city. But this temple has been a sacred, tranquil place for 1300 years (established in 721). Huge numbers of people have visited on pilgrimage and have offered up their prayers. The higher you go up the steps, the greater the view you can see. People long ago might have seen the same stunning views that we can see today.
