Temple twenty four in the Shikoku Ohenro pilgrimage is also known as the Cape Temple. Located on Cape Muroto, it ends one of the longest stretches (75.8 kms) between temples of the pilgrimage. After achieving enlightenment here at the age of 22, Kobo Daishi dedicated his life to the salvation of all mankind. To commemorate his achievement, he built the Cape Temple on the top of the hill at the tip of the cape. To get there, catch a Kan-noura bound bus from Nahari station and get off at Muroto-misaki bus stop. From there it’s about a 30 minute walk.
