Bowie X Kyoto X Sukita Exhibiton 2021

A special exhibition at Kyoto's Museum EKI will explore various photographs of David Bowie in Kyoto that were captured by Japanese photographer Masayoshi Sukita. Sukita met David Bowie in 1972 and accompanied him on his world tour the following year, and the friendship and working relationship between the duo lasted over 40 years until Bowie's death in 2016. Bowie visited Japan on numerous occasions, and had a fondness for the country which will be showcased in Sukita's works on display.

Adult admission is priced at 900 yen.

Getting there

Museum EKI Kyoto is located within the Kyoto Station building, on the 7th floor adjacent to the Isetan department store. The station is served by a wide variety of lines, including the Tokaido Shinkansen, the Tokaido Main Line, the Nara Line, and the Sanin Main Line.

For those who plan to drive, parking is available at the station, which is charged at 600 yen for the first hour, and 300 yen for every 30 minutes thereafter.
