Nine Hours is a capsule hotel that is unique to Japan. It features a large number of small sleeping cells arranged one above the other.
While you can't stand up in the capsule, you can pretty much do everything else. It is located near the major train stations and the Kyoto downtown entertainment area, such as Shijo Dori.

I think everyone should experience a capsule hotel at least once. It is something very Japanese!

The first capsule hotel to open was the Capsule Inn Osaka, designed by Kisho Kurokawa and located in the Umeda district of Osaka, Japan. It opened in 1979. I think, main target were businessmen, who drink in pubs after work...

I had no idea the first capsule hotel was in Osaka. I always just assumed it was in Tokyo. Thanks for sharing!
