Kengo Kuma Exhibition - Nagasaki

5 Purr-fect Points for a New Public Space

Venue: Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum When: Jan 22nd - Mar 28th 2021

Kengo Kuma is a renowned Japanese architect who has a broad portfolio of impressive designs, including the likes of Tokyo's Nezu Museum, Sunny Hills Aoyama, and the Asakusa Culture and Tourism Center to name just a few. A special exhibition taking place at the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum looks at Kuma's designs from a unique perspective - a feline point of view. Concepts like holes, softness, and time are just some of the cat-like approaches that Kuma thinks of when approaching a new architectural piece.

The exhibition will look at 30 of Kuma's architectural works, with explanations of his thought-processes while creating them.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1300 yen.

Getting there

The Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum is located a three minute walk from the Dejima tram stop, a five minute walk from the Nagasaki Shinchi Bus Terminal, or a 15 minute walk from the JR Nagasaki Station.

Paid parking is available on-site, and discounts are given to those who attend museum exhibitions, or the museum cafe and shop.
