Moomin Comic Strips Exhibition: Nagasaki 2022

A special event at the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum

Venue: Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum When: Jan 21st - Mar 27th 2022

The Moomins are characters in a cartoon series developed by Finnish illustrator Tove Jansson, and their popularity has continued to grow in recent years across Japan. The Moomin Comic Strips Exhibition makes its way to the Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum in early 2022, and will include over 280 drawings and sketches of this much-loved troll family -- many of which haven't been seen in Japan before.

The event will also have a range limited-time exhibition goods available for purchase, including items like Moomin t-shirts, cosmetic pouches, and tote bags to name a few.

The ticket price has not yet been determined for the event - updates will be posted on the official website closer to the commencement dates.

Getting there

The Nagasaki Prefectural Art Museum is located a three minute walk from the Dejima tram stop, a five minute walk from the Nagasaki Shinchi Bus Terminal, or a 15 minute walk from the JR Nagasaki Station.

For those who plan to drive to the museum, it's located approximately 5 minutes from the Nagasaki exit on the Nagasaki Expressway. Paid parking is available on-site, and discounts are given to those who attend museum exhibitions, or the museum cafe and shop. Present your parking ticket at the entrance and the staff will validate it for you.
