Internationally-renowned Japanese photographer Nobuyoshi Araki might be famous for his visceral, erotically-charged photography, but those in photography circles would also be in the know of one of his best and most personal body of work, the 2-part Sentimental Journey (センチメンタルな旅) and Winter Journey (冬の旅) series.
Now, the complete contact sheets of Araki's Sentimental Journey series will be on full display as a solo exhibition at IMA gallery in Roppongi, in conjunction with the concept store of IMA, a well-known photography magazine in Japan. A total of 653 photos from the contact sheets will be presented for the first time, while IMA Concept Store will sell and display an archive of photography books by Araki, which includes numerous out-of-print and rare publications.
The Sentimental Journey exhibition will be on display from May 25th 2016 (Wednesday) to July 9th 2016 (Saturday). For more information, click on the official website here.
