Cosmos Season at the Sanko Cosmos Garden 2024

Enjoy beautiful autumn color in Oita Prefecture

During October each year, Oita's Sanko Cosmos Garden is filled with millions of colorful cosmos flowers in bloom. They come in various colors and varieties, and many of the flowers are planted to create unique designs and patterns - floral art, if you will!

On weekends during the blooming season, the garden is home to stage performances and numerous booths selling locally-grown produce.

Admission to the Sanko Cosmos Garden is free of charge.

Getting there

Oita's Sanko Cosmos Garden is located around 15 minutes by taxi from JR Nakatsu Station, which is served by the Nippo Main Line.

For those who opt to drive, the venue is under 10 minutes from the Nakatsu IC of the Higashi Kyushu Expressway.

Kim, I think the summary article about flower places accessible by public transport would be very useful for those who travel by it and has modest budget to take a taxi. I cancel plans if I can't reach places by public transport such as train and bus. Just an idea. :)

Yes, great idea! This event usually has a free shuttle that goes from the station to the garden, but a lot of events with free shuttles have shut those off for now because of COVID. But yes, I hear you on the modest budget, it's always better when places are cost friendly to access and don't need private transportation.
