Keiko Sena Exhibition 2021

A special event at the Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art

Venue: Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art When: Apr 2nd - May 9th 2021

A special event taking place at the Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art looks at the works of Keiko Sena (1932 -), a children's picture book author who is most famous for her works "Nenai Kodareda" and "Megane Usagi". The event coincides with the 50th anniversary of Nenai Kodareda's release, and there will be around 300 of Sena's works on display -- including drawings from before her writing debut.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 1200 yen, and no advance reservations are required.

Getting there

The Okayama Prefectural Museum of Art is located approximately 15 minutes on foot from JR Okayama Station's Korakuen Exit (East Exit). Buses are also available from the station: take the Okayama Korakuen Bus (Uno Bus) from Okayama Station (head out the Korakuen Exit/East Exit and wait at bus stop No. 1). There is a dedicated stop for the museum.

For those who opt to drive, there is on-site parking available but it is quite limited (38 vehicles).

The ghost picture reminds me of my childhood:)
I believe most of Japanese people in my generation read her "Nenai Kodareda" when they were kids.
