Okinawa City and Uruma City is a bit distant from the multitude of dining choices that dot the Route 58 corridor from Naha to Chatan. If you're looking for steakhouses in this area the Big Heart Steakhouse chain has four central Okinawa locations in Nishihara, Awase, Misato and Uruma. The steaks start at 1,300 yen for cubed steak, and less than 1,000 yen for hamburger and chicken sets. Lunch sets from 11:00 ~ 15:00 are an even better value. Big heart doesn't have fancy decor or a wait staff wearing flair, but the food is first class. I visited the old Misato Village location in northern Okinawa City that is just west of the southernmost intersection of Routes 75 and 224. Big Heart is open daily 11:00 ~ 22:00 and only accepts yen.
