Nemophila (baby blue eyes) are native to North America, but they grow exceptionally well in many parts of Japan. One of those places is the Osaka Maishima Seaside Park, which is home to a vast site covered with these flowers spanning approximately 44,000 square meters. When they're at their best (around April through early May) an annual festival takes place, which drew in close to a quarter of a million visitors last year.
Along with all of the floral beauty to enjoy, a food truck event will be held at the park grounds during the same dates – so come hungry!
Admission to the venue is priced at 1500 JPY for adults, and 500 JPY for elementary and junior high aged students. Pre-schoolers receive free admission.
