Omotenashi is a Japanese concept rooted in exceptional hospitality and attentiveness towards guests, and it centers around a sincere desire to anticipate and fulfill people's needs. Because of this, it may not come as a surprise that two Japan-based airlines have made the Skytrax World's Best Airlines of 2023 Top 10 – All Nippon Airways (ANA) came in at number three, and Japan Airlines (JAL) took out fifth spot.
The Skytrax awards are determined via an annual global survey that ranks airlines based on passenger feedback and experiences, and they're widely considered as some of the most prestigious accolades in the aviation industry. The survey covers various areas of the end-to-end flying experience, including service quality, cabin comfort, in-flight entertainment, and overall customer satisfaction.
In addition to making the Top 10 list for the World's Best Airlines, both All Nippon Airways and Japan Airlines picked up some extra accolades. All Nippon Airways received awards for the World's Cleanest Airline, the Best Airline Staff Service in Asia, the World's Best Airport Services, the Best Cabin Crew in Japan, and the Best Airline Staff Service in Japan. As for Japan Airlines, they were recognized for having the World's Best Economy Class and the World's Best Economy Class Airline seat, so if you're looking for a more luxurious feeling economy experience be sure to explore their offerings.
