I am an English teacher living and working in Miyagi-ken. I have been in Japan since August 2010 and have traveled quite extensively. I have a great love for Japanese history and culture, especially castle and samurai lore. Places I have been include Tokyo, Sendai, Kyoto, Osaka, Hiroshima, Fukuoka, Kumamoto and Nagasaki. I am very happy to be writing for Japanese Tourist and love talking about my experiences. My advice to anyone reading this who is interested in exploring Japan would be to just go for it. It might be a little scary for those who can’t speak Japanese (I can’t speak that well either and I live here!), but the experience has been life changing and fulfilling for me.
