Cizhou ware is a term that encompasses a wide range of Chinese ceramics from the late Tang dynasty to the early Ming dynasty. These ceramic pieces were typically black and white, and decorated using a range of different techniques. A special exhibition taking place at the Torek Museum of Art in Nakano will showcase a range of these Cizhou ware pieces, displayed alongside some stunning traditional Japanese folding screens by Suzuki Kiitsu, a revered Edo period painter.

Adult admission to the special exhibition is priced at 400 yen.

Getting there

The Torek Museum of Art is located approximately 7 minutes walk from the West Exit of JR Higashi-Nakano Station, or 7 minutes walk from Exit A3 of Higashi-Nakano Station on the Toei Oedo Line.

For Tokyo Metro users, the venue is around 14 minutes walk from Exit A1 of Ochiai Station on the Tozai Line, or 13 minutes walk from Exit 2 of Nakano-Sakaue Station on the Marunouchi Line.
