Cizhou ware is a term that encompasses a wide range of Chinese ceramics from the late Tang dynasty to the early Ming dynasty. These ceramic pieces were typically black and white, and decorated using a range of different techniques. A special exhibition taking place at the Torek Museum of Art in Nakano will showcase a range of these Cizhou ware pieces, displayed alongside some stunning traditional Japanese folding screens by Suzuki Kiitsu, a revered Edo period painter.
Adult admission to the special exhibition is priced at 400 yen.
