Confronting Eyes 2020-2021

An exhibition showcasing the works of Taro Okamoto

Venue
Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum
When
Sep 30th 2020 - Jan 31st 2021

Taro Okamoto (1911 - 1996) was a Japanese artist who was particularly known for his abstract and avant-garde style pieces. His works, despite being seen as "Western" in nature, differed greatly from other Western artists who focused on themes like landscape art, still life, and figure paintings. One unique component in Okamoto's works was that they almost always contained some depiction of eyes.

A special exhibition taking place at the Taro Okamoto Memorial Museum focuses on the concept of eyes as a central theme, and the life forces that seem to emanate from Okamoto's works as a result of them.

Adult admission to the event is priced at 650 yen.
