Cherry blossom viewing spots in Tokyo usually get crowded; however, there are some less known ones where one can enjoy both, the spring flowers and the serene atmosphere. Gokokuji Temple is such spot in Tokyo. Conveniently located on the Yurakucho Metro Line (Gokokuji station), it's an ancient temple that survived the second world war bombing and has an impressive landscape of pine trees and a garden decorated with stone lamps. A must visit, if you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of cherry blossom viewing spots like Ueno and Kudanshita.
