This winter, the magic of Nintendo’s Super Mario is headed to Tokyo’s Marunouchi area with the MARUNOUCHI BRIGHT HOLIDAY 2024 event. Running from mid-November to mid-January, this multi-venue celebration features immersive displays, exclusive merchandise, and themed activities that appeal to visitors of all ages during the festive season.
At the heart of the event is the Super Mario Power-Up Illumination, located in the Marunouchi Building’s Maru Cube. Standing at an impressive 13 meters in height, this dynamic display showcases Mario’s iconic question block, with items appearing to “fly” out of it. Each evening, a synchronized light and music show (from 5pm until 9pm) brings the world of Super Mario to life, making it a must-see attraction.
Other highlights include the Princess Peach Showtime! Sparkling Photo Spot in the Shin-Maru Building, where visitors can take memorable photos alongside a stage featuring Peach. Additional character-themed decorations, including Yoshi, Luigi, and Toad, will be featured across several venues such as Marunouchi Oazo Plaza and Marunouchi Brick Square, offering plenty of Instagram-worthy moments.
Interactive activities are also part of the event, including a Super Mario Stamp Rally held at nine locations across Marunouchi. Participants can purchase a stamp rally sheet for 200 JPY, collect stamps at designated spots, and redeem exclusive event goods upon completion.
For those seeking unique souvenirs, limited-edition Super Mario merchandise will be available exclusively at Marunouchi shops. Visitors who spend 3000 JPY or more on goods can receive event-exclusive stickers as a special bonus while supplies last. Restaurants in the area are also joining in the festivities with special holiday menus featuring Super Mario-themed food and drinks.
