Scenic Walks Around Tokyo

Enjoy these walks easily accessed via public transport

During my last visit in Japan, I used to commute every day between my accommodation and the nearest station. Although only for few minutes, it was a pleasant experience.

If you are passing through one of these stations you can enjoy some of the following routes:

1. Gotanda Station - Tokyo: Along the Meguro River

The river is right next to Gotanda Station on the Yamanote Line. You can walk near the riverbank and enjoy the view.

It is said to be a good place to enjoy cherry blossom in spring, but it was beautiful in autumn as well.

2. Kamedo Station – Tokyo: Kameidoryokudo Park

Heading south from Kameido Station - East Exit, is Kameidoryokudo Park; a little park in the middle of the street. In autumn, this road can be a festival of colors with its colorful leaves.

3. Kannai Station – Yokohama:

a. South Exit - Odori Park

Odori Park is a wide park along the street heading south-west from Kannai Station - south exit.

Pigeons of multiple colors enjoy its wide grounds, while neighbors find it a perfect place to play board games or just gather and talk.

It is also within a 20 min walk from most Yokohama's attractions.

b. North Exit - Isezakicho

Isezakicho is a shopping district where shops and restaurants are aligned along the street.

Only for pedestrians, the street is bustling with families and friends at all times.

The entrance is located near the north exit of Kannai Station. Like Odori Park, it is also within a 20 minute walk from most of Yokohama's attractions.

Walking along these routes was the cherry on top of my journey in Japan. It made me enjoy every second, and I hope you will enjoy yours too.
