Ryogoku Station is no ordinary train station for it is home to some of the most famous sumo wrestlers in Japan. It is not very often that you will find large portraits of historic sumo wrestlers and their foot stamps. Although Ryogoku is a stop of the modern Tokyo Metro, it still holds on to the historic past that led to the rise of sumo wrestling as one of Japan’s quintessential sports. So take a minute to look around Ryogoku Station before you head to your next destination.
