Squirrel Park in Machida

Squirrels, tortoises, guinea pigs, rabbits and more

There are some very big old tortoises wandering around

Grass and 'woodpiles' hold hundreds of cute squirrel houses

The squirrel will leap onto your hand in search of food. You need the mittens, because they dig their claws in when they land.

Machida Risu-en has a big enclosure with lots of grey squirrels who are not at all shy. There are also a few red squirrels, big and small tortoises, rabbits, groundhogs, guinea pigs, parrots, snakes, salamanders, and turtles. If you have kids or are an animal lover yourself, you can easily spend an hour or two feeding the squirrels and watching them play.
