Shinagawa's Tennōzu Isle often gets the nickname of Tokyo's art island, owing to the impressive amount of street art you can find in the area. Many of these pieces are the result of the Tennoz Art Festival, an ongoing project held in this part of the city.
This year's event is billed as one of the largest mural projects in all of Japan, with displays by by 22 artists in 18 locations. Some of these are pre-existing pieces like "The Shamisen" by ARYZ (Tennoz Art Festival 2019), and others are new for 2024. A map outlining the locations of the murals can be found on the official event website.
