If you've got a bit of a green thumb – or you'd like to nurture one – the Toyosu Plant Festival is worth checking out. Part of the event centers around the release of the book "まきのまきのレター" (Maki no Maki Letter), which focuses on the life of Japanese botanist Tomitaro Makino. He's often referred to as the Father of Japanese Botany, and was responsible for the classification of over 50,000 plant specimens from across the country.

Getting there

Toyosu Park is located just three minutes on foot from Toyosu Station, which is served by the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line and the Yurikamome Line.

For those who opt to drive, paid parking is available at the Toyosu Gururi Park lot. It's charged at a rate of ¥400 per hour, but please note that bills over ¥1000 won't be accepted by the machines on-site.
