Twice a year, at Golden Week and on Tokyo Day (october 31st) Tokyo Sea Life has free entrance. However, my advice is "Don't do it!" It was of course extremely crowded, and I couldn't even get near many of the aquarium windows. It is an impressive aquarium, and it would be much better to pay the entrance fee on a day when it is less crowded, and see it properly.

Free entrance to aquarium in Edogawa during Golden Week

At least I could get close and personal with one fish

Part of the long, long, long queue with Tokyo Disneyland in the background

The queue approaching the glass dome which is the entrance to the aquarium building

Inside the glass dome

A tuna swims powerfully back and forth in his tank

If you don't dive, an aquarium is a wonderful way to see the mysterious underwater world

Spiny lobster also known as crayfish

Sea turtle

River fish

No way to get near this window!

I was impressed with the building and landscaping

Shallow infinity pools around the aquarium lead the eye toward the ocean

Carp streamers for Children's Day were fluttering in the sea breeze

I really enjoyed this aquarium. It's not too big, not too small and really well laid out. For a little more info you can check out my article here: https://en.japantravel.com/tokyo/tokyo-sea-life-park/5419 :)
