William Morris: Trajectory of Design

A special exhibition at the Takaoka Art Museum

William Morris (1834-1896) was a British textile designer who was associated with the British Arts and Crafts movement. He is often seen as one of the figureheads who revived textile arts and how they were produced, and his works are still loved to this day.

A special exhibition taking place at the Takaoka Art Museum will explore Morris' life as a designer, with around 80 examples of his work on display. There will also be photographs and video footage of English landscapes which were often a source of his artistic inspiration.

General admission to the event is priced at ¥1200.

Getting there

The Takaoka Art Museum is located just two minutes on foot from Etchu Nakagawa Station (JR Himi Line), or approximately 20 minutes on foot from Takaoka Station (Ainokaze Toyama Railway Line, Himi Line, Jōhana Line).

For those who opt to drive, the museum is around 15 minutes from the Takaoka Kita IC on the Noetsu Expressway.
