The Arakawa Dam in Yamanashi Prefecture is a beautiful site to visit at any time of year. In autumn, it's especially incredible. The massive dam holds Nosen Lake, a body of water that sits tucked within the mountains on three sides, and overlooking the amazing scenery far below on the other side. For tourists flocking to the nearby Shosenkyo Gorge - a patch of nature also highlighted that much more in the fall season - the Arakawa Dam is a great secondary destination if you're already in the region.
