A limited-time exhibition at Nagoya Takashimaya will explore 25 new works from contemporary artist Yohei Sugita. Born in Mie Prefecture in 1983, Sugita graduated from the Musashino Art University's Department of Oil Painting in 2008, and has participated in a variety of solo and group exhibitions both in Japan and abroad since then.
Sugita's works are characterized by their vivid colors and a unique use of paint - he often layers it on in thick, chunky blobs, and doesn't limit the use of paint to canvas alone.
A number of Sugita's works on display at the event will also be available to purchase.
Admission to the exhibition is free of charge.
