Hosting a fireworks event in a crowded urban area poses various practical and logistical challenges, which is why such events are typically held away from urban areas where there is more space. If, however, you wish you could experience a fireworks event in the heart of Tokyo, augmented reality comes through in the clutch.
The Mirai Hanabi in Shibuya Parco event is set to run from February 1st to 14th on the venue's 10th floor rooftop park. From 5pm until 9pm, visitors will be able to scan a QR code via their smartphones to enjoy the virtual fireworks show. The STYLY app will need to be downloaded before visiting, which can be done here.
